"I thought it was well organised and there were lots of staff around to guide the kids and parents particularly on the first day when registering for the first time."
"The coaches were all wonderful, the venue is obviously stunning, the activities and learning were really informative and the organisation like clockwork."
"It is very well run and puts an excellent emphasis on good sportsmanship, it is the only place that I have experienced this with recently."
"My daughter had lost confidence at school, and had a difficult last few weeks. Then she came on your camp and said it had been one of the best things to happen to her! She was a little nervous on the first morning but said she had gained so much confidence and has got her self-esteem back. Thank you so much!"
"At the end of each day I would ask Joseph what his favourite bit was, and he said “I love all of it!” We found all the coaches very friendly and professional, Thank you!"
What is the Gold Medal Academy?
The GMA is a unique opportunity to experience and sample a variety of sports and activities themed around the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. The fun Academy programme has been devised using expert input from leading athletes and coaches and has been broken down into relevant skills and games for ages.
New for 2017, selected GMAs will be visited by our expert coaches from La Manga Tennis Academy in Spain to sample the unique coaching programme. For more information on our partnership with La Manga click here
Who is GMA for?
GMA exists to help children aged between 5-16 years old find sports and experiences they love and can develop using the Olympics and Commonwealth Games as their start point. All this is delivered in a fun and safe learning environment. Our GMA coaches have experience and qualifications from a spectrum of sports and activities.
To promote some of the less mainstream sports we invite highly qualified external coaches and sporting role models to deliver inspirational sessions. External visits include golf coaches, cycle coaches, archery instructors and athletes who have competed in World Championships, in sports such as handball and basketball.
Gold Medal Academies run from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily with extra time club available from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Our aim is to promote as many sports and activities through progressive coaching sessions to help develop every child and give them positive experiences they will remember.
The Academy has two programmes running within it, one curriculum for our Junior medallists (5-7 Years) and one for our Senior medallists (8-15 years). More information on these can be found by visiting our Gold Medal Academy Coaching Programme.
