The Active and Inspired at this Years Summer Camp
Amazing Ambassadors
We have had some incredible star visits to our camps this summer including; Heather Knight, Dom Bess Jamie Knight, Sophie Kelly, Lucy Harris and a variety of other Super League Netball players.
As well as our star visits, we have also partnered with Dogs Trust and The Royal Navy to deliver fun filled sessions on our Multi Activity and HAF camps. Lastly, we have had BatFast for Cricketing sessions, with their state-of-the-art batting simulator.
Residential Camps
This summer we have run two amazing new themed Residential Camps; The Student Chef and Performance Running.
The Student Chef ran at St George’s School Harpenden for children aged 10 – 16 as an opportunity to advance their culinary skills and cook up some incredible dishes, as well as a 3-course meal for their parents/guardians on the final day.
Our Performance running residential was run at Mount St Mary’s College up in Sheffield for over 25 children with team GB Coach John Skevington, an incredible opportunity for children to increase their performance on the track and work towards personal bests! We also had a number of technical workshops with key themes including pre-hab, technology, planning training throughout the year and technology to assist training sessions.
Summer Scorcher!
We have been lucky with some amazing weather this summer, as well as some record highs of over 40 degrees! We always ensured the children were kept safe during the hot weather, and we carefully planned our day to keep them out of the heat as much as possible. This included, using indoor spaces such as sports halls and classrooms, adapting our curriculums and sessions to put child staff and welfare first, regular breaks to apply sun cream, drink water to refill water bottles.
