Venue Bio
Founded in 1903, St Helen and St Katharine is a leading independent day school for girls and young women aged 9–18. Situated in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, the School is consistently rated in the top 20 girls’ schools in the UK in terms of academic results. It draws students from as far afield as Henley, Witney, Banbury, Reading and Newbury.
St Helen’s is a school for bright girls with enquiring minds, a place where success is celebrated but not revered. Our aim is to ensure that every student achieves success as she defines it, so that she can believe in herself, her talents and abilities, and feel prepared and equipped for life beyond school.

In 2016, the School opened its new Sport Centre with national league standard courts, a fitness suite, an ergo suite, a group cycling room and a dance studio. Our outdoor spaces feature six floodlit netball and tennis courts, lacrosse and rounders pitches, and we have recently opened a new Sports Pavilion at our extensive Church Farm playing fields.
The School’s brand new Sixth Form Centre, the Benedict Building opened its doors in January 2023 providing nine classrooms, a flexible lecture/performance space, academic study areas, social spaces, a café and a higher education library. This new state of the art building is a physical articulation of SHSK values and vision for Sixth Form, echoing the design, freedom and independence of university life.
