Regional Manager for Operations and Camp Delivery
My favourite thing about working for Activate is being able to see the wide variety of camps running and the diversity of the children attending camp as well as the different opportunities on offer for them. The best thing about the team is the sense of belonging when putting on your kit in the holidays and feeling part of something within a company who really buy into you.
Mark is Activate Camps Regional Manager for Operations and Camp Delivery and has worked with Activate for over 14 years.
His background during term time is head of PE at a school in Berkshire, having qualified back in 2008.
His journey with Activate equally started back in 2008 as a coach on the Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy at Bolton school. From there he became a head coach in 2009 for the Academies.
After taking a few years off from working for Activate Mark has recently started a more diverse role in the company working as a regional manager in the South East, visiting camps, working with our seasonal staff and other managers on resources including camp documents, paperwork, and training weekends. Last summer Mark traveled to various locations including Taunton, Sevenoaks, London and the Home Counties, helping to ensure camps were run to the highest possible standards.
His Career highlight to date is in 2009 being one of the 12 head coaches for The Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy. Freddie himself came to visit the camp at Bolton School where Mark was working with Sky Sports and BBC News in attendance as well as over 150 children on the camp. What an experience!
Mark would recommend Activate due to the diversity of camps which are run with everything from Cookery to Sport and History as well as Residential camps being launched this year. There is a huge combination of different themes for everyone to get involved with and opportunities to travel around the country working on camps. The quality of the venues used for the camps is great and the facilities are amazing.
There is a sense of belonging within Activate as well as the kudos of working at one of the UK’s leading camps providers.
Activate recruit for over 1500 seasonal job roles a year, working with children and young people across a variety of programmes.
There are four key opportunities to work at Activate; Camps, National Citizen Service, Residential Camps and HAF camps. If you’d like to work within a dynamic company and have a passion for working with children and young people of all ages and ability levels, then we’d love to meet you.
